Breezy Hill Baptist Church was established in 1955 and has remained in the same location until present. The original 5.4 acres of land was purchased for $300 and the acquiring of a $4,000 loan enabled construction of the first building to be completed in the spring of 1956. Services were held in the "roughed-in" building with no windows-just white bed sheets hung over openings, and no flooring - just sawdust. Despite all the inconveniences, there was a great spirit of revival!
The church continued to grow and additional facilities continued to be needed. A Sunday School building was soon completed and by 1967, plans were made to build a new auditorium. In 1970, a five acre tract of land across the road from the church was purchased and eventually, the Family Life Center was constructed in that location. Over time, additional buildings and facilities have been built to accommodate the growing congregation.
Then in 1996, a unique opportunity arose as Breezy Hill purchased 28 acres of land adjacent to the church property for the development of the Breezy Hill Bible Camp. This property continues to progress and is regularly used for camps, retreats, and various ministries of Breezy Hill Baptist Church. The campus continues to grow with a new chapel and student center presently under way and future development already in the planning.
Facilities, however, are not what constitute the Breezy Hill Baptist Church. In its infancy, it was a congregation of committed Christians who joined together to love and serve God and that same spirit continues today.
